Strategic Marketing and Communications

Vanessa is currently on track to complete an LLM at Cardiff University. She is also preparing for the Solicitor Qualifying Exams for England and Wales. She is passionate about international human rights, intellectual property, and information and communication technology law. She looks forward to building a legal career focused on these areas with an international perspective from the United Kingdom, Canada and Spain.

Vanessa graduated with a First Class Honours LLB from the University of Birmingham and before beginning her legal studies, Vanessa earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy with Distinction from the University of Toronto. During her legal studies, she served as an NCA Tutor™️ Campus Ambassador, a role that has since evolved into her current position in strategic marketing and communications.

While at Birmingham, Vanessa demonstrated a strong commitment to both academic excellence and professional development. She coordinated the university’s Pro Bono Clinic, mentored incoming Canadian students, captained a team in the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition, reached the finals of a debating competition, won a mock trial competition and participated in a Generative AI mini mock trial. She also completed a summer internship at Davara & Davara Asesores Jurídicos in Spain, where she specialised in Information and Communication Technology Law. In recognition of her achievements, she received the Birmingham Distinction Award and Gold CPD Status.

In her free time, Vanessa enjoys physical activities, travelling, and volunteering.
